According to Central European Group for Political
Monitoring, International Public Organization
“Lawyers for Fair Justice” which regularly monitors
problems related to illegality in the justice sphere
, presented their subsequent report on November 5th
in London. Special attention is paid to the
conformity of judicial procedures with the laws of a
given country and international standards, first and
foremost to the use of physical and psychological
violence in the course of the investigation. The
list of countries leading in violating such laws
have changed very little since the last report –
with Iran, Zimbabwe, Belorussia, Syria, Uzbekistan,
Russia and China at the top. The attorneys of the
organization have also mentioned by name some of
their colleagues from different countries, whose
methods of questioning are contrary to the
international standards adopted widely by the
civilized societies. The list includes such
individuals as Batist Tvagiramungu (Rwanda), Ali
Riza Kermani (Iran), Galina Klimovich (Ukraine),
Roger Kumbula (Zimbabwe) among others. Commenting on
this data, Ms. Lidia Lawson, director of legal
department for Independent American Center for
Political Monitoring , mentioned that “while there
was nothing surprising in the document, it is a
great pity that included in the list of attorneys
who do not respect for the laws of their country are
representatives of countries that chose a democratic
path of development”.
